The World's Greatest Monument You've Never Heard of, and It's in New Jersey

The Tear-Drop Memorial

As tall as a 10-story building and weighing 175 tons, the memorial "To the Struggle Against World Terrorism" is made of steel sheathed in bronze and includes a 40-ft stainless steel teardrop. The monument overlooks Manhattan and New York Harbor, in view of the Statue of Liberty.

Dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 9-11 and 1993 World Trade Center attacks, the monument is a gift of the Russian people and designed by Zurab Tsereteli. It was dedicated on 9/11/2006 in a ceremony presided over by former President Bill Clinton.

Amazingly, it is located in Harbor View Park in Bayonne, New Jersey. Amazing, that is, that Bayonne has a park.
